Gazipasha Gem: Koru Beach-Natural Pools

Have you ever been to Gazipasha before? Despite being less known compared to other districts, this town located at the easternmost part of Antalya draws attention with its historical and natural beauties. Especially, one of the most popular spots in the district, Koru Beach-Natural Pools, mesmerizes visitors with its beauty.

Named "Mansion Stone" by the locals due to its composition of mansion stones, this beach stretches over 2.5 kilometers. So, what are mansion stones and how are they formed? Mansion stones occur where coastal sand dunes are present. Their formation involves the crystallization of limestone in underground water, binding the sand and gravel together. Subsequently, the loose parts of the dune are carried or blown away by the wind, revealing the mansion stones underneath. That's how this beach is formed.

The sea purifies itself

Koru Beach-Natural Pools boast clean and clear waters. This is due to the unique property of the sea to self-filter. The sea filters the water, returning it to the pools with the help of waves, which helps to cleanse it from foreign substances. Thus, it performs a natural purification function. Of course, with the sea being so clean and clear, it's possible to observe its inhabitants.

Another important feature of this beach is that it's a nesting ground for Caretta Caretta turtles.

Both non-swimmers and families with children can comfortably visit Koru Beach-Natural Pools. However, caution is still advised as there are occasional deep areas despite the presence of shallow ones. Additionally, you can visit this beach not only for swimming and sunbathing but also for picnicking.

How to get there?

Koru Beach-Natural Pools is located in the Ekmel neighborhood of Gazipasha district, on Cumhuriyet Street. It is 49 kilometers from Alanya and 5.5 kilometers from the center of Gazipasha district. It is 8.5 kilometers from Alanya-Gazipasha Airport. Public transportation goes to this beach. However, if you prefer a more comfortable and luxurious mode of transportation, you can come by your own car or rent a chauffeured vehicle.

This beach, which is mostly preferred to visit on weekends, can get crowded during those times. We recommend visiting on weekdays if you prefer tranquility.

You can enter the beach free of charge. There is a shop where you can buy all the necessary beach supplies. Here, you can rent sun loungers, umbrellas, and other items. There are also showers and toilets on the beach. Additionally, there are places to grab a bite to eat.
