Antalya's Most Popular Desserts

One of the best ways to get to know a city is by tasting its local dishes. We recommend not leaving Antalya without experiencing its historical and natural beauties and tasting its flavors. Earlier, we talked about Antalya's dishes. Now let's talk about its desserts. Let's see what are the most well-known and beloved desserts of this beautiful city?

Pumpkin Dessert

One of Antalya's most famous desserts, Pumpkin Dessert, is made from pumpkin. Syrup is poured over sugar-cooked pumpkins, then tahini and walnuts are added. It is then served warm or cold.

Burnt Ice Cream

Also known as Burnt Ice Cream, this ice cream is often consumed during the summer months. It entered Antalya's cuisine from the Ottoman Empire. Made with Maltese goat's milk, this ice cream burns due to its high fat content. This burnt taste adds a special flavor to the ice cream. Hence, the name "burnt" ice cream.

Apple Baklava

Baklava is one of Turkey's most famous desserts... It is prepared with different methods in many regions. In Antalya, apples and cinnamon are added inside. Unlike other baklavas, olive oil is applied instead of butter. After baking, the baklava is poured with hot syrup and left to cool. Then it is served.

Twist Dessert

The famous dessert of Alanya district of Antalya, Twist, also known as Givrim, is made with phyllo dough and walnuts. Walnuts are wrapped in phyllo dough and baked. Then it is topped with scented syrup.

Finike Banana Baklava

If sweet and heavy desserts are not to your liking, you should try Finike Banana Baklava. It's a light dessert because it contains fruit... Peeled bananas are arranged on a baking sheet, then a mixture of orange juice, melted butter, and sugar is added and baked. Then coconut and cinnamon are added on top, and it is served warm or cold.

Arabian Knafeh

This dessert is also called Flat Knafeh or Stone Knafeh. A dough mixture made from semolina flour, yeast, and hot water is cooked on one side in a pan. Then, nuts, cinnamon, and sugar are added inside, and the dough is folded, dipped in egg, fried in oil. Then it is immediately poured with syrup and served.

Hamali Dessert

Hamali Dessert is a dessert made from baklava phyllo dough. A pudding made from wheat starch is added inside the phyllo dough, then the dough is folded in the shape of a talisman. Then it is baked, served with scented syrup and cinnamon.

Tahini Katmer

Katmer is famous in Gaziantep, but this dessert is made differently in Antalya. Bananas, sugar, and, of course, tahini are added inside. This dessert is served hot and we recommend trying it during your trip to Antalya.

Babata Cake

Babata Cake, which Antalyans call a cake that never gets stale, is made from yogurt, tahini, cinnamon, sesame seeds, corn flour, sugar, olive oil, peanuts, and other ingredients.

Cillincop (Tahini Flour Halva)

Cillincop, made in the ?brad? district of Antalya, also known as tahini flour halva, is also very famous. This dessert is made from tahini, molasses, and chilbiki seeds.
