The Darkest Spot in Turkey: Melikler Plateau

Melikler Plateau is located in the Yenisharbademli district of Isparta. Situated at the foot of Dedegol Mountain, this plateau lies within the boundaries of Kizildag National Park. We highly recommend visiting Melikler Plateau, known as the darkest spot in Turkey, if your travels take you to Isparta.

Surrounded by mountains, forests, rivers, streams, and lakes, Melikler Plateau is at an altitude of 1,735 meters. The nearby Dedegol Mountain stands at 2,998 meters. This mountain is a popular destination for climbers and hikers. Melikler Plateau is also perfect for camping, and many people come here specifically for that purpose. For those wishing to stay overnight, there are prefabricated cabins and yurts made of felt on the plateau. Melikler Plateau also includes the P?nargozu Recreation Area and P?nargozu Day Picnic Area. You can come here with your family and friends to enjoy a picnic in the magnificent nature covered with pine trees.

The best time to visit the plateau is in the spring and summer. Its cool air will be particularly refreshing in hot weather. Additionally, in May, you can participate in the Dedegol Mountain Climbing Festival, and in the summer, you can join the Stargazing Festival. By attending this festival, you can enjoy stargazing in this dark region. When you come to Melikler Plateau, you can also visit the nearby Pinargozu Cave, Zindan Cave, and Yaka Canyon.
