Natural Wonder: Upper Duden Waterfall

The source of Antalya's most famous and touristy natural beauty is the Kepes Hydroelectric Power Plant, which also forms the Duden Waterfall. After the water emerges at a location called Dudenbasi, it splits into two branches of the Duden Stream. One of these forms the Upper Duden Waterfall, and the other forms the Lower Duden Waterfall (also known as Karpuzkaldiran). We have already told you about the Lower Duden Waterfall earlier. Now we will tell you about the Upper Duden Waterfall. If you are interested in "how to get there and what to do" at the Upper Duden Waterfall, you will find all of that in our article.

How to Get There?

The Upper Duden Waterfall is located in the Kepes district of Antalya. This unique waterfall is located 10 kilometers from the city center. You can reach this waterfall in the Varsak area of Kepes by both private and public transportation. However, if you prefer a comfortable, safe, and luxurious way of transportation, you can consider renting a car with a driver. Choosing any car from our large fleet and making a reservation, your car with your personal driver will be at your door immediately.

What to Do?

As you head towards the upper part of the waterfall, you will see caves. You can also explore these interesting caves.

There are plenty of fish restaurants and cafes around the waterfall. You can choose these places for relaxation, snacks, and drinks. There are also picnic spots around the waterfall. So, you can also have a picnic here.

The Place Where Alexander the Great Watered His Horses

The surroundings of the waterfall, where ancient stone tombs are also located, offer the opportunity for a historical and cultural tourist tour. This place also has another historical significance. The King of Macedonia, Alexander the Great, arrived here after conquering Pamphylia in 334 BC and watered his horses from the Upper Duden Waterfall. Therefore, this waterfall is also called the Iskender Waterfall. Local residents also call it the Dudenbasi Waterfall.

The waterfall is open for visits every day with an entrance fee. If you haven't been here yet, be sure to come. Being surrounded by nature and fully enjoying the tranquility will bring you a therapeutic effect for your body and soul.
